| Don't worry about starf****. Their bad coffee will ruin them! Only went there once, but I never had such bad coffee all my life. Some advice to everyone: Cuban "Cubita" coffee is organic, it's traded at fair prices and it's wonderful stuff.

| I hate being charged extra for soymilk. I work for Starbucks and refuse to charge for soymilk. It is a b.s. company. I needed the money a few months ago and they were hiring but needless to say, I am looking for another job before Starbuck's discovers my stash of dark chocolate. Heheheh...evil barista. store managers process all raises those through the work station directly to seattle.some mangers may coose to discuss it with their dm but as far as the process,they aren't needed.dms will get a report at the end of the quarter on things like that but they don't process them.just be sure you aren't being given a b.s. answer. |

| If you don't like your job with SBUX... go somewhere else. If you don't like the coffee... don't buy it. If you think you are underpaid go work for another coffee house and see how much you make. More than likely, you don't "work hard" enough to make the money you're making now. You probably have some grandious idea about what your "valuable" time and efforts are worth when in fact you do nothing more than make coffee, talk to people, play with a simple register system and possibly clean now and then. STOP COMPLAINING!!! You people have it made. Get a reality check for crying out loud! I'm not exactly the biggest starbucks fan, but give me a break, any idiot can see that it is just freakin coffee. Get over it. |

| At SBUX, if anyone bothered noticing, the "Corporation" has come up with a great ploy to milk an extra couple million dollars each year.
How? You might ask... Simple.
You know the scale employees use to count their deposits and floats? So much more easier than manually counting cash you might think. Well it is - the "Corporation" spared us the arbitrary task of counting pennies.
BUT!
Did you ever happen to notice sometimes the scale can be alittle off - say one of your coin scoops has 23 pennies in them - you can see it for yourself - 23 pennies - you place the scoop on the scale and - PRESTO! - magically the scale declares that you only really have 15 or 19 pennies - but you know damn sure there are 23 pennies.
I've picked up quite a few Phantom shifts at other stores and have noted that ALL the scales tend to count pennies and nickels wrong - never any of the other bigger change or bills (although sometimes the smaller bills are off by just a bit).
Think about it - every store has an average of 6-12 tills being opened - if every penny scoop is always off by say ten or even five cents... times 7,000 stores... you do the math. It works out to be a shit load of money made in the "Corporation"'s favour.
P.S. how many partners have blurted out in frustration to you "this scale is off" ??? - Or, how do you CALIBRATE the scale? try calling FASTDESK about fixing the scale.. see how urgent it becomes...
Anyways... just something for all you partners to think about next time you cash out and your till is .62 cents short even though you know it should be perfect. |

| at starbucks when it comes time for a barista to get a raise you have a review.
the manager gives you a piece of paper with the most outrageous expectations on it.
on top of that the top rate increase is 25cents.
i wonder what the hell my stickin manager is thinking, l work my butt off at her store, I am among the strongest partners in the store, skill wise. AND starbucks is not going out of business if i get my total increase!
QUESTION 2 MANAGERS: do you really need the DM's aproval to give someone a .25cent raise? |

| I live in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area . . . Starbucks is just starting to make a foothold here, mostly in the suburbs, which is really sad because Starbucks coffee is of very poor quality, regardless of what the company or any ardent fan says. I've been drinking shade-grown, fair-trade coffee from a locally-owned coffeehouse in G.R. for the past three years now: compared to Starbucks, it's richer and darker and has far more taste. It's also healthier; and nothing beats a local coffeehouse (where patrons and baristas can smoke) that's indigenous to the neighborhood or town. Starbucks is a mere rusted cookie-cutter that should have been thrown out a long time ago. Props to those outside of the U.S. who fight against the corporate culture. |

| Hey Brooke, please tell me that your response isn't true. I can't believe that they are that ridiculous about the smell of their coffee. If anything, they should have the lab that invented Victoria's Secret scent do a coffee smell because the Starbuck's coffee can't be that spectacular. Hey Drusilla, I find it amazing that your store is so uptight when you're not even near the store. I would however understand if you were wearing their attire. If Starbucks is that anal about fags, they should stay away from West Hollywood where there are plenty of them. I know, that was a bad joke!! Take it in stride. |

To Everybody: Sbux is starting a credit card and giving employees a discounted rate!! Oh joy, I am so happy to see that starbucks is bringing back the Company Store! Maybe they can take my card payments right out of my check, and I can find out how much I owe them at the end of the week! |
