Ok, a new day has dawned on IHateStarbucks.com.
I no longer want to keep hacking the old, tired php on the site, so this is what I propose. These messages will remain up for all eternity. In addition, there is a new Guest book. So if you want to share your opinons, i.e. post to the site, go here. As always, if wish to rant or rave, send me an email:

| I have to admit that I do enjoy Starbuck's Cafe Latte's. But last Saturday my partner and I had to wait over 45 minutes in a drivethru line located on the corner of West & Hammer Lane in Stockton, California. And then to top that off, the service was lousy. The attendent didn't appoligize of the slow service, in fact she was very rude. Needless to say, we won't be going back!!! |

| Greetings from Germany!
I hate Starbucks! I don't want them to expand their business
into the German market.I just don't want them here! The destroy the traditional varity of cafes and bars we have in Germany!
I don't like "Short Latte" or "Tall Frappucino"!They are even to stupid to translate the names into German and the prices are increadibly high.
Boycot starbucks wherever you can!!!!! |

| Pookie Lou, The indies don't last long enough because of the way Starbucks makes the market. That's my observation.I think their practices are similar to Walmart-drive the other guy out and call yourself #1.Anyone can claims success if their isn't another party to measure yourself against. They make no bones about their goal of bottom line, but I think if you run your competition out of town, then you're only being a bully. Not being an honest competitor. |

| thanks for putting this site up. i'm just so tired of how corporate america has become, how boring, generic, and blase it all is. starbucks is one of the most annoying examples. i'm glad some of the workers enjoy the jobs, they're underpaid mules who don't mind being brainwashed.
but my god, whatever happened to good coffee at a decent price, in a mom and pop place where you can relax in an old couch, check out other coffee house freaks, and not feel like you've been in the exact same place in every town in america?? starbucks, that's what. it feels like an upscale mcdonald's and the workers usually have that forced sense of cheeriness. it's annoying. and boring and i always felt like a drone when i went there.
oh, and the faux starbucks (run in partnership with barnes and nobles - another evil empire) at the university of chicago, doesn't allow the staff to have a tip jar. when i asked why, they rolled their eyes and said 'it's because we get paid so well.' i tried not to laugh. poor bastards.
oh! and they're building another starbucks about 4 blocks away, on the south side of chicago - which is primarily african-american. the construction crew building it is called something like krueller konstruction kompany - their symbol is kkk. hmmm... white supremicists setting up coffee houses... is anyone surprised??
oh yeah, feel free to edit this. i tend to ramble.
good luck and keep up the fight! |

| Every time I mention where I work, I either get shouted at for being a gutless corporate whore in an evil coffee empire, or an very genuine kind word and thanks for making someone a good drink and getting to know them. Talk about your night and day responses. As I read though the comments made my everyone I was facinated. I couldn't turn away. Its just like being in a staffroom on break. I kept thinking of a former job I had where everything posted here happened. From Theft, to affairs with the DM to drugs to lousy pay with no benifits. I was with that company for 6 (thats right 6!) years, made only $8.35/h and was screamed at by customers on a daily basis and watch idoits get promoted before me. Why did I stay there? Who knows. Is Starbucks an evil coffee empire because its the exact same as the rest of the Corporate world even though it claimes otherwise? Who knows. Perhaps it just comes down to the people you work with. I have been Starbucks for a year and a half now and just recently transfered to a new store in a resort town (notiably the first Starbucks there). Despite some ups and downs I have been lucky. My manager is wonderful, taking the time out to listen to partners and their concerns. Her motto is "its just coffee, life is more important". To some this corporaton represents enslavement and bang on. Enslavement to the lifestyle we are all living right now. Enslavement to money and to the western way of life and until all holy hell breaks loose and distroys it all I will continue to work in my mountin town, serve up the Starbucks brand and relax because just one barista can't change it all at once. |

| I heard that Starbucks may be facing charges of monopolistic practices in some cities. Can anyone confirm that? |

| Starbucks is in every f'n state and country and is mainly supported by yuppie suburbanites and professionals who don't mind paying almost $4 for small cup of water and ground up beans. BUT I (poor little college student) keep going back. I think it is because the independently owned coffe shops never last long enough to remeber the menu. Or that there is a SB on every corner? It is really similar to Walmart's monopolization of America. |

| Competitor,
Everyone hired has to be Lesbian or Gay. So they call their employees 'Partners' to be politicaly correct. This keeps law suits to a minimum because they think that, historically, this part of society will not want to be in any spotlight. Therefore, they treat employees in any way they choose to meet the bottom line without complaints. It's a new fiscal year, is everybody on Team Howard excited? |

| I just stumbled onto this website and WOW!!! Im a manager for starbucks and im amazed at some of these comments. Ive been with the company for three years and I still love it. For all of you that work for us, if you are being mistreated by anyone in your store call the compliance hotline, let someone know. We cant fix problems we dont know about, those of us who do enjoy our jobs and want to make a great work environment for our partners dont like to know that there are people out there not doing the right thing by their partners or our guests. |

| Wow Chris thats outrageous how heavy are you?
You must not be a tipper or else they would never talk to you like that, throw those vultures a bone once in a while and you can buy them off.
Im sitting here with my friends we just went to starbucks: I asked for no whip cream, OF COURSE the Mocha Frappuccino had whip cream on it. So, instead of being a bastard and having the barista scrap off the whip or remake the drink i scraped it off myself and kindly asked for a new flat lid.
But could they just hand me a flat lid NOOOO, they have to tell me that just for my information the drink comes with whip cream and that next time I should ask for it without.
I kurtly responded " well perhaps you werent listening when they called the drink to you, but i did ask for no whip thanks! |

| hey Green Apron. just so you know leagally your intitled to that break after two hours, just speak up once in a while and say its time for my ten thanks. if you really want to piss off your shift set a timer for two hours after you clock on and when it goes off let him/her know that its time for your break.
I to am from a very high volume store, iv also am one of the stronger partners their because of a really high turn-over, so of course i get stuck barring.
In Fact some states have a minimun of fifteen minute breaks but starbucks only gives out tens, go figure those criminals.
OKAY need to vent one more time.
went into starbucks ordered a small coffee and a slice of cake, after discount it was $1.95, tell me why im carded when i run my debit card for two miserable bucks. damn morons.... |

| lol Homer, that\'s cute. And for the one who dealt with the rude cashier, don\'t let that individual get to you; he or she is probably another disgruntled employee who is jealous because she is stuck in such a worthless job and you aren\'t. Quite frankly, I\'d much rather spend $1.25 on a 24-oz. coffee at 7-11 and fix it anyway i please...extra syrups, flavored creams, whatever. At Starbucks, however, I\'m not too keen on spending $4.25 on a triple venti extra vanilla with whip latte, and then spending more money on extra syrup, extra shots, etc. It doesn\'t matter if you\'re a pauper or a prince...it\'s value, people, who can beat that? With all the other useful things we could use our money on, like food, shelter, health care, and those unpopular bills...why on earth fork it over to a company who already has billions of dollars for practically nothing? |
