| I worked at Starbucks for a year, and that was more than enough for me. Although there are some great things about the job, such as coworkers and the rush of making drinks at 100 miles/hr, my particular store (and my manager more specifically) was f'ed. I was sexually harrassed at my store by an older man who also harrassed multiple other females at my store, and all they did was transfer him to another store where he did the same thing! I also was promised promotion over and over, and was never told by my boss why he was hesitant to promote me, but seemed to have no problem sharing that information with my coworkers. I look back and wish I could return to the good times at the store, but that place f'ed me over one too many times. Also, shortly after I left, they announced that they were raising the pay rate. What a crock! |

| My brother used to work for ConglomoBucks years back. He would tell me about the working conditions, lack of raises and health ins. Honestly I thought he was simply complaining. Then he tells me of Bucks coming into strip malls and buying a 5 year lease on the condition that the mom and pop coffee shops may only sell coffee, no latte, no pastry, just coffee. He also tells me that Bucks is "strip harvesting" from places like Vietnam, and causing trouble with the contry from wich coffee was born, Ethiopia.
Buck's product is substandard and overpriced. Their bussiness tactics are deplorable. I live in San Diego, near Mira Msea Blvd. On that road, at last count there were 7 along a 4 mile stretch of road. Do you know of any other campany that has done that? Wal Mart is close, but Wal Mart cant fit inside a grocery store. If you are in SD, PLEASE check out The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, or Cafe Moto. Better coffee, from people that actually care about what they make and what you drink.
P.S. I was just in Ethioipa on a Missions trip and bought tons of coffee from the locals. Even with the slightly elevated prices of the coffee in the cities, I was able to buy 3 kilos for about the same price of 8 0z of Bucks' . If you really love buna and have a chance to go, buy it from where coffee was invented. Down with big bad coffee! |

| here's the deal. i'm on the inside. and let me tell you, the company is all about appearances. people at our local mcdonalds get paid 3 more dollars for, lets face it, low quality service. i would get fired if i ever forgot an order and told the customer that it's not my problem. i think that if this company doesn't want to have fast food coffee, than they ought to pay above fast food wages. everyone in my store is educated, in school, and is at the store because they buy into the whole "starbucks is the best company ever" mantra. but seriously, why would an employee invest in stock or a 401K on $7 p/h. that's not even enough to pay for rent, food, bills and insurance. it's time for a wake up call. and i don't mean a 6 am double tall, 4 pump vanilla, nonfat extra foam latte either. |

| i work for starbucks in the uk and to be fair i dont get why all these people complain about baristas being snotty and self righteous - we know we're making coffee and not performing brain surgery. everyone i work with is great. and most of the customers are really friendly as well. its the few sad people who have nothing better to do than complain about everything that make the job hard for us - instead of screaming at us for making the wrong drink then maybe you should order the right one to start with and actually learn what the drinks are, because you make complete twats out of yourselves in the process. the reason you have a crap experience is because you make it crap by whingeing like spoilt little 3 year old brats who throw their toys out of the pram when things dont go their way. its the few who think that theyre superior to all others around them that cause the problems. if you hate starbucks so much then why keep going on about how shit it is - just let it go and move on. put your energy into doing something other than moaning and whining about how crap starbucks is, because at the end of the day you're just acting like little kids who aren't getting their own way |

| I could not get on the "It's Red Again" port on the Starbucks web site to understand what it's about, even with a computer tech at hand. On their advertising web site is required Flash 8 that some websites won't take. Starbux logic, once again. Are they participating in the national "Red" craze that is taking over, which is Communistic, down to an actual, stated manifesto? If this is true, then the green Mermaid is showing its true hue, its dominant theme color for Xmas this year. And, we may have a better understanding of their twin-Tazo cup, bug-flying-by poster controversy right after 9/11. As well as their fierce monopolistic centralist coffee control mentality, and lack of genuine concern for partners or any one or thing that gets in their way. Very Capitalistic, eh?! This is one x-barista's opinion anyway. |

| As an X-employee, I recently received the Letter concerning our personal information being stolen. It is my opinion that this was an inside job that the arrogant, inflated corp., i.e. the BUX SCHMUCKS allowed to happen, perhaps in retaliation to our FREEDOM OF SPEECH on this site. Well, all I have to say is: 1) They're a bunch of IDIOTS for putting sensitive info on devices that can get stolen, and 2)a POX on them if they think they're having fun with our lives. The LEAST they could do is take responsibility for their blunder, and pay for all credit checks incurred. They never fail to disgust me and I've never looked back nor set foot in a store since I quit 2 years ago. |

| I despise Starbucks and thus support this site for the following reasons:
-Their coffee is of poor quality. Real coffee lovers know that what they serve isn't traditional coffee. People who like Starbucks coffee are usually just fans of sweet things in general.
-Their products are overpriced.
-They are socially irresponsible becuase of how they treat their employees in developing nations.
-They are ruining the true coffee culture, which exists only in small cafes.
-They are the typical type of corporation that doesn't base its products on the demands of the market, but instead creates the demand by aggressive advertising and other forms of subconscious manipulation.
-Their huge financial resources allows them to exlpoit others. An example would be a Starbucks located in the middle of the Forbidden City (an ancient palace) in China. |

| I, too, worked at Starbucks several years ago and received the same letter. This letter can be seen, verbatim, at the following web site:
http://www.starbucks.com/aboutus/pressdesc.asp?id=716
Curiously, there are no "signatures" on the letter---just names. No problem with my credit, yet. Here is what I would suggest---as the letter says, I would contact the Equifax fraud line at 1-877-478-7625 and follow the steps to place a "fraud alert". The "fraud alert" lasts 90 days.
However, I would NOT enroll in the free "Equifax Credit Watch Silver" service for which Starbucks has a promotion code. Instead, I would do a search on Google for {credit bureaus security freeze (plus the name of your state). I believe that you will get results on how you can place a "security freeze" with each of the 3 credit bureaus. This generally involves sending a letter with your information (certified mail) to each of the three credit bureaus---and Experian requires two types of proof of residence, such as a driver's license and utility bill or bank statement---and a $10 check or money order--for each of the credit bureaus). That's if you want to "play it safe." |

| I haven't worked for Starbucks for about 4 years and I just get a letter saying that 4 laptops were missing and that my social security number was on them. Has anyone had any problems with the credit due to someone else using their social security number? I was fired because I was treatened by an employee who was the DM's friend. Just another twisted Starbucks experience. |

| Just came across your site. I thought I was the only one that hated their burnt, bitter disgusting coffee. If you are in Michigan, Ohio or any where in Canada try Tim Horton's coffee. It is a good cup for a chain. Use to drink Dunkin Donuts but I couldn't figure out what the star on the forehead meant until someone told me it meant the coffee is fresh. |

| I came across this site somewhat accidently. Although, I certainly was hoping to come across something like it. I really don't understand the Starbucks fad. Good coffee? I think not. Well, I take that back. I'm sure those overly-sugared drinks everyone overpays for (a caramel mocha frapa-WHAT?! There's no coffee in there, don't tell me the coffee is good when you're too busy drinking pumpkin spice or whatever disgusting drink of the week they have going on to actually taste the coffee) taste perfectly fine. I mean, you can't go wrong when the name of your drink exceeds 5 letters and involved at least one fruit, right? I won't even get into the corporate issues with Starbucks because that's not even my main issue with them. The coffee is not amazing. It's fine. It's nothing special. It does not deserve the hype and it shouldn't be so expensive.
I think the person who said it was the people that patronize Starbucks is spot on. I overheard some trendbag claiming that he had Starbucks to thank for his "inability to tolerate bad coffee" (well, I was on a college campus so the language was slightly more colourful) which basically baffled me. Starbucks somehow provided you with a refined palate? I just wanted to say, "Sweetie, all Starbucks did for you was scam you out of ten dollars you could have better spent." |

| The price for a single cup of Starbucks that the yuppies pay will put me in Folgers coffee for 2 months. My wife says that the Starbucks juice for kids that is sold for $2.95 is really just the plain wrap juices off of Albertson's shelves. |

| i was sufing the web for info for skool, cuz we're having a debate if starbucks is good or bad tomorrow. I'm in the against team of starbucks because first of all, they use milk from cows that were injected called the rBGH. i've done researches and i know its true. Also, the whole fair trade thing. They've only got 3.7%of it. There's tons of reasons why we should boycott starbucks but lastly of globilization. It's destroying our true traditions and cultures by bursting and setting a shop every two to three blocks away! |

| I had never drunk a starbucks beverage until i started working for them about 6months ago. When you first start you think its going to be a real great job, they have their statements. You get in store and they treat you like dirt.
After reading some of these shout outs i realise that im not alone and it happens everywhere. I just thought it was my store but obviously not. We have employees that arent getting paid right and they send you to all these other stores that are impossible to get to. My store opens at 6am in the morning. My shift starts at 5:30. I have to get up at 3:30am everymorning for that shift. I dont drive, i have to walk and catch a train.
I hate this job more than working at MCDonalds. Its the same in Australia as it is in America, trust me. So.freaking.dodgy. |

| Congrats to who ever made this site, for taking the time to do somthing productive for society. Starbucks is a corporate giant that has been crushing small business and lowballing bean farmers in underdeveloped countries for years.
The best section on this site is the hate mail. It appears that every EMO arts major has had enough time to post slamming the founder/operator of this website...amazingly trying to use poor philosophy and bad grammer/spelling to make a very uneducated point. I know I have bad spelling, but I am a Business major.
LOL, the people who say that this site is uninformed and uneducated should shut their mouths and pick up a f**king book. Especially those self ritious a**holes who state that starbucks gives back to the community, and is an ethical corporation. I suggest that any of these people read a marketing book...not one you find at coles, go to university, take a marketing course and then you will understand. In my 4 years at University, starbucks has been a constant example of a "pirate corp", using ruthless cutthroat tactics on competitors, and suppliers. Starbucks has been willing to make independent stores suffer, in order to completely eliminate competition, and was accused at one point of paying rent premiums to drive the market value of commercial real estate too high for smaller indepedent coffee shops to compete. Furthermore as far as giving back to the community goes...they dont really now do they, you pay 3.65$ for a large coffee that cost them .16$ to serve including the cost of the beans and the fancy packaging. there is an extra 1.00 to cover the overhead...and the rest is profit. They are one of the largest corporations in the world...and are very successful, but they should not be admired, they should be reprimanded. The should be repremanded for underpaying their bean farmers in underdeveloped countries, for making exclusive contracts driving the prices of beans up for independent shops, and for using completely unethical business practices to gobble up market share and force other independent coffee shops out of business. Starbucks is successful because it uses every possible unethical business practice to earn that extra dollar and cripple competition.
if that alone does not anger you, then consider this, the coffe you just paid 3.65$ for is the exact same coffee you could have bought at the supermarket for a lot cheaper ;P
On another note that stuff about their being too much hate in the world... if you dont stand up against injustice and wrong, then those who abuse others will thrive. Hate is a strong word, but if you dont deal with these companies, they will ruin our country. And starbucks is a great target, they deserve what ever bad karma comes their way.
so if you consider eliminating jobs in your community giving back. paying poor bean farmers hardly anything so you can have your latte mochachino...and be ripped off because of the premium. and you enjoy the massiv amount of waste the company creates each year.
go ahead support starbucks. |

| Briefly,if I hear one more sob story about Schultz's ghetto upbringing on national TV, I shall vomit! Boo-Hoo! Many folks have raised above their not so "Sunnybrook Farm" upbringing. He needs to get over his lame a** yammerings and "poor me"! Serve a REAL cup of coffee ya idiot! Starbucks is NOT Fair Trade. In fact they rip-off poor coffee bean growers in third world countries. I live in Philadelphia where Starbucks is on every other corner! I buy my coffee and beans from an independant, Fair Trade member called "Joe" - a coffeebar. Best coffee served in town, best FRESH, organic yummy sandwiches, soups, etc. All FRESHLY made daily. The sandwiches are fairly priced and extraordinary! Coffee is FRESH, not over roasted and bitter like Starbucks crap. And, it is crap folks and a waste of your hard earned money. So, yeah, I do hate Sarbucks! Their stinkin' up the neighborhood and polluting your minds with their - lattes!??? Oh,are they "lattes" or a load of sweet chemicals? I'm full blooded Italian - I was served a latte by my Grandmom in my baby bottle. I KNOW the difference. If you are ever in our "City of brotherly love", give the place a go - you won't be disappointed. Yeah! I do hate Starbucks! |

| I hate how starbucks takes their dirty mocha blender frap thingys and just put them under running water for 5 minutes at a time, just running all that water, non stop all day long at all of these starbucks around the world! What a waste, yet they sell Ethos brand bottled water at the counter that supposedly puts money into conserving water. What a joke!!! |
