Ok, a new day has dawned on IHateStarbucks.com.
I no longer want to keep hacking the old, tired php on the site, so this is what I propose. These messages will remain up for all eternity. In addition, there is a new Guest book. | I am a Barista that expressed interest to my manager about being a shift supervisor from day 1. I have been with the company for 8 months. WHAT DOES MY MANAGER DO? Promotes an African American to be a shift supervisor just because it is policitally correct. The new leads all seem to be African American. To top it off the person just made shift supervisor has only worked for the company for 3 months! My manager just keeps on promising me I will be shift supervisor in 3-6 months and claims the needs of the store are more important then I be lead. TOTAL CRAP! Then I get mistreated and NOT allowed to do BAR because MY other partners claim I am TOO slow. I really hate the company now and rather go drink coffee elsewhere and not drink the burnt beans that *$ serves. |

| like oh my god i went into my local starbucks.I ordered a tall mocha and my partner ordered a tall americano.i was slowly sippin, slowly cause they always make my milk all burnt, too hot, and shit.i was swallowing a gulp of said bile when a long greasy hair that originated on a greasy monkey of a woman got caught in my throat. I instantly gagged and spilled mocha on a sassy teenage tramp. After, i yelled at my partner for taking me to hell on earth and threatened to cut him off permanently. i yelled for a manager and some zitty shiftworker gave me a free drink coupon.i,m gonna send those bastards my hospital bill. |

| What up to all my Starbucks-haters! :)
I was a employee at Starbucks recently (about two weeks ago) until I finally quit that crappy job. I have been on this website before I got the job...I should have listened to the former workers of Star*ucks! I really thought that this place was actually a cool place to work at: young customers, cozy environment...but to my surprise, it was nothing but a phony ass place with nothing but fake ass people trying to be special...they are so phony and snobby-expecting you to be kissing their butt or something because you are working there. And what trips me out about the place is the fact that the other co-workers (or the phony word "baristas") kiss these customers asses-remembering their names and their favorite drinks-having fake relationships with the losers. Most of the co-workers there are losers too-don't go to school, live with parents, been working there at Star*ucks for a million years and sh*t. They don't have a real life. While I am here trying to remember freakin' equations to my chemistry and math courses (because I am educated and know that Star*ucks isn't a place to work forever), these losers are trying so hard to kiss butt and remember these damn loser customers' drinks. I also hate those customers that come in and either repeat their freakin' order so damn fast to make you feel slow/ they're a regular or stand there and looking at you as if are supposed to know what they want already...excuse me....do you think I have time to remember you or your losey ass orders? I don't care if you come to Star*ucks every f*ckin' day...it's not my damn duty to get to know you! Star*ucks even have the nerve to train you as if you are working at some prestigious place-IT'S A FREAKIN' COFFEE SHOP DAMMNIT! Don't make it harder than it is! These bastards had the audacity to always give me crazy schedules (working 3:45am when i just finished working late that night before). They don't care if you are sick or have a lot going on...all they care about is you coming in everyday, working, for lousy tips (ironically, from these so called "rich" customers) and a lousy pay. Oh yeah, the so called "benefits"...there's no benefit working there...it's hard as hell to get the good hours to work enough to get them. Besides, once you work fewer than 20 hours, you are cut. After working there, you don't feel like drinking there (after finding out the kind of crap they put in frappucchinos). And going to other Star*ucks is another retarded experience because other Star*ucks workers want to make a superficial relationship with you because you work at Star*ucks too. I am like, "Just give me my damn order and save the bullsh8t for someone who would like to kiss azz too." Co-workers are so damn jealous if you got something going for yourself (going to school, look great after work...etc.) ...they want you to be as fake and miserable as they are. They are backstabbers as well. What I conclude about this? : STARBUCKS *UCKIN' SUCKS! |

| Okay If you think you hate Bucks. Think of me I hate it. I believe my bolonga has a first name its S T A R B U C K S. My bolonga has a second name its Coffee. Cause Starbucks Coffee has away with B O L O N G A. I mean come on now that whole guest crap we they try to make us was is crazy. Now we didn't invite any of the people that come in to our stores. So what are we becoming a Mc D's wanna be. Its funny because Starbucks is so full of it. They trully are not a good company to work for. This is the most STRESSFUL job I ever had in my life. I have never seen a place that if your not always on your kness kissing somes butt you will never get anywhere. Its all a big cover up. THey want people to think its a good place but its not. Once you get hired its a trap. Like signing your soul to the devil. Don't do it to yourself. I mean its okay once in a very very very blue moon. |

| Starbucks opened in Melbourne, Australia recently and I went to have a look. High prices, no waiters, bad coffee and plastic cups - plus they tried to kick me out 10 minutes later as they were closing (no warning given when I purchased the thing). Melbourne has a rich heritage of great coffee shops as a result of recent European (especially Italian) immigrants. get real Starbucks, you aren't going to survice here on one off 'experimenters' and tourists!

The poster that is screwing up this guestbook with posts is definately a AOL user. Unfortunately, there is a way to track him. Unless someone working for AOL tech support or something is willing to help you out.
What you can do is call up tech support give the offending IPs and the exact time and date that the offense was commited and do this on multiple occasion. Don't bother saving it up everytime. AOL will be forced to cancel his account due to abuse.
Good Luck.

| I'm a barista in a Canadian store... why does Starbucks INSIST on using ALL imperial measurements etc, in all of their recipes?? If you're in Canada use the Metric system like every other store!! Before I worked there I had no idea what the hell ounces and gallons were. |

| I read that if you drink 12 Starbuck 12 oz. coffees one after another, the caffeine will kill you. Just thought this was interesting. I had 1 and thought I was going to shake to death and my stomach felt like it was being eaten away! I love coffee but not even close to good does Starbucks come. I don't go for trendy, so it is not a place I frequent, but our local county hospital has a Starbucks coffee stand in the lobby....go figure! |

| I think this site great, some anti-starbuckser's. As far as I'm concerned the company can pretty much go to hell. they're trying to take over the world pretty much with like 4500 stores world wide and sadly growing. I am myself an ex-employee of Starbuck's and was sucked in by there supposedly good benefits...it's hard work and not worth the pay. They want you to be a caffiene driven machine mechanically interacting with other partners, not having fun, as is supoosed to be the environment for both the employee's and the customers. They make you provide so fast of a service during busy times that you get stressed to the point you don't realize it. And gee it's really not my idea of fun to get up at the crack of dawn, in the winter time hours before dawn, to go pretend to be happy and serve coffee to corporate no lifes, the rich and snobby, and those who would like to both. I was basically forced to quite because of persistence to oppose dress code...my hair was just too "unnatural" of a red. Not that I was dismayed by having to quite....inside I was smiling for once in real way as I wouold no longer have to deal with all the nitpicky rules. I do feel scarred from the experience, but you live and learn. I would like to mention a truth to Starbucks taking over. I live in Vancouver, BC and in the downtown core alone you almost literllay can't walk one block any direction without running into a Starbucks...the little guys are dying out. oh and the only reason I enter a starbucks now is for either cold water or hot water for tea that I've bought from somewhere else. |

| I have until recently been a starbucks employee for four years. I've been looking for another job because I couldn't stand it. I would get yelled at for the stupidist reasons. For not saying 'blended' when calling up a dink that is obviously a blended srink: Tall 'blended' caramell frapuccino. I've never had anyone ask for a frapucino to not be blended. Also I'd get in trouble for putting syrop in the blender before I put in the ice and goop. It's not chemistry here: it a blended cold drink. Give me a break!Starbucks has a policy that if your get three warnings about something you get a final warning before they fire you. One day my manager hands me 3 'corrective action' notices and gives me the final warning for sloppy cash handling all in one go. Nice! I had a month to show that I could improve. So I made all those sour pussed customers wait so I could take my time and make sure my cash was even. Since then my cash has been very tight. On one rather stressful and busy day I entered in a total in the debit machine wrong and I ended up 10 bucks under. I was very apologetic and offered to repay the 10 dollars either in cash or by working it off. No, they are not programed for such actions. I was accused of stealing and let go. But it wasn't just that: apparently I was witnessed giving away product. My girlfriend showed up 15 minutes before the end of my shift so I made her a drink and told the other partner that that would be my 'partner beverage' a free drink you are entitled to before during and after your shift. My shift ends and I go up to the counter and have it rung in properly. The two-faced stupid shift supervisor, who referred to me as a friend, rather than telling me,"you can't do that, you're gonna get in trouble.", goes and rats me out to the manager. Nice girl! I hope she DIES! So at 7am the next day my manager is waiting for me and tells me tat she has to let me go. I ask for an explanation and she proceeds to interrogate me! Now, fair enough: I messed up, my bad. I don't even mind getting fired, I hated working there. But did she sit me down and explain why she was doing it? Nope. Just 'I have to let you go I need your partner card' ,a gestapo-esque interrogation, oh and the acusations of being a thief and a liar! Two weeks notice? Forget about it! I would have done so, as is part of my work ethic. You don't leave people high and dry. Well good ridance! I could go on and on, but I just needed to vent.
P.S.: How to love STARBUCKS COFFEE:
with a felt pen or spray paint erase the STAR, change the B into an F, erase the C and E in cofee and change the last E to an ! Now I wear my F*** OFF ! T-shirts with pride! |

| I live in the SF Bay Area and I am wondering why it is that whenever I see a Peet's Coffee (started here in Berkeley), I see that a Starbucks has just moved in across the street? PS: I noticed while reading over many of the other comments that there are a large number of people who claim to hate Starbucks, yet they work there. That makes no sense to me. |

Starbucks managers are the worst excuses for human beings that I have ever met in my life. Same thing with upper management. F*ck them all. Keep up the good work!!! |

| i am a starbucks employee and i agree with your site. i also hate starbucks. dont get me wrong, i love my job, but that is only because i work with really fun people. starbucks boasts great benefits for their employees but let me tell you something. to obtain the benefits, you have to have at least 20 hours per week. sounds nice, but it is very hard to get that many hours at starbucks and the averaging system they use to figure it all out has kept me out of benefits for over 7 months even though i am working over 30 hours a week on average. hmm. also, the prices at starbucks are outrageous. did you know that starbucks pays 3 cents for each shot of espresso but charges 55 cents in some markets? outrageous. starbucks claims of being the best coffee in town are laughable. have you noticed that the taste of starbucks coffee is almost intolerable? that is their secret. by overroasting their beans and making them taste too strong, they shame people into thinking they are wusses unless they can handle starbucks coffee. what ever happened to drinking what you like, not what someone else tells you is the "best"? just some thoughts for you. |

| Ok who ever is posting this crap. This blatant griffety of this site, stop it immediatly. The person who does this makes 15-20 posts a day. They even make 5 posts within 3 minutes of eachother. The posts are usualy like his "STARBUCKSISGREATSTARBUCKSISWONDERFULSTARBUCKSISTHEBOM" He is also the one who is cutting and pasting entries together, so his post will be a good 20 entries long, of other people's stuff combined. He even uses fake names. He has even used mine. I have a fix on his ip, i know he uses AOL as his service provider. The ip address of this person changes, however the first three digits are always fixed. This persons ip addresses are as follows: 172.149.60.254 , 172.165.249.43 , 172.147.218.196 , 172.151.224.194 , 172.144.2.168 , 172.165.249.43. If anyone has a way of finding info out about this person, please let me know! I am sorry about the condition of the site at various times of the day, it is this one person's fault. |

| Why limit your hate of evil coorporations to Starbucks? The US is littered with 'exploit for a cheap buck' companies. Not only the US but nations world wide are suffering from the generification of our societies by these marketing juggernauts. I guess this post is a little off mark because I don't have any particular dirt on Starbucks other than the fact that I hate them (oh and I hate that they serve everything in take-away style containers even if you eat-in, unless you open you wallet for a proper 'branded' cup).
Well, I'm voting with the only valid voting rights left to me, that's with my money... No Starbucks, Gap, MacDonalds, Nike, Uniclo etc.

Is it like this in all markets, do they come in and fire some of the best partners they could have ever had? Do they say they support the almighty word of the \"Mission Statement\" but really only be concerned with one guiding principle ~~~profitability is essential to our future success! Why does Starbucks say one thing and do another....am i just stuck in a really shitty market.. or is this how the Siren really treats her \"psrtners\"??? |
