Well, where to start. First, I'm deeply disappionted that a message I posted in February didn't make it into the archives. And now to the business. I'm a shift supervisor at a Starbucks in a suburban Los Angeles city and it's one of the best jobs I've ever had. Now I agree some of the people Starbucks hires are wacky and weird and might need a little attitude adjustment here and there but overall it's a good company. Their drinks might be a little pricey but if that's what the people want give it to them. If you don't want to spend $4 dollars on a Venti Frap or a Caramel Macchiato then go get a cup of coffee at 7-11 or Winchell's. No one is telling you to come to our estblishment. BVesides the expensive drinks you must also recognize that Starbucks does a lot for the community's in which it had business'. My store has donated gallons of coffee to the Boys and Girls Club in our city, to the Town Council, LAPD, LAFD and many more. Also after 9.11 our company donated millions of dollars to the 9.11 fund along with our customers and partners. We as a company also gave away hundreds of thousands of cups of coffee to firefighters and rescue works at Ground Zero. Not all Starbucks have the best employees or the greatest customers. You just have to find the right one. I greatly respect everyone's opinion on this board, but just realize that not all company are just out for money, a small hand full are out to make the world a better place. And Starbucks is one of those companies. Thank You.

I am a recent starbucks refugee and I just want to thank the mighty green giant for sucking the soul right out of my now expendable body!! I could think of no other place where i would rather trade in my self respect in place of a latte and some cheap health insurance! So thank you, Shultz for making me realize that i am nothing in the eyes of corporate society. Take your mission statement and stick it!

I was just wondering for all of you visitors here, if you knew of a few small/local coffee shops that have been closed by the corporate giant. I am doing research for a massive project and There are many people talking about how they dont care, but very rarely do they mention the closings. manda_mitchell@hotmail.com Thank you

Well actually the secret to a carmel macchiato I can\'t really reveal. If I did you would need all the proper stuff to make it just right and they are only available through sale at a Starbucks sale which would have the proper materials and also the method which it is made is complicated and must be done correctly. Sorry.

The shift supervisor I have is very moody. He often times yells at me and the other workers. Sometimes he even throws the chocolate bars at us. He even once told me and some of the other workers to go home while his girlfriend was still in the store. This was late at night when we were closing the store. He can be very violent at times which makes me very scared. What should I do??? Also the computer gives me 20 hours a week however the manager changes the schedule so I only get like 8 hours.

I disown \'Starbcuks Australia\' as being a fellow citizen - goddamned yank-loving corporate stooge can get the hell outta our country. Starbucks is just another example of the\'Wal-marting\' of the world. Large companies mass-producing and making smaller individually owned businesses go under. Wake up people. Support small business or they will all fail. And do you really think that corporations won\'t take advantage of being the only employers when we have nowhere else to go for jobs?

In east Boca I used to visit the Mizner park Starbucks twice a day. Do you think I got treated better then the cell phone snobs who walk in with their noses in the air? Yeah right, think again, the management there treats me like any other coffee addict. I recently went there before my work shift and two hours later I was stuck on the throne sick as a dog. There coffee cleaned me out, I swear I lost ten pounds in a half hour. I was soooo sick. Their coffee is one hundred percent ill in a cup. If you want to lose a few of those holiday pounds just visit the Mizner Park cafe in east Boca Raton Fl. They\'ll serve you up the one hour toilet drink to get you started on the road to lower intestinal cleanliness. Needless to say I\'m over starbucks and doubt you\'ll ever see me there again, at least not until I need to lose any more weight.

Starbucks coffee houses have one big drawback. They (or most probably the staff who have not been properly trained) hanot the slightest idea about what coffee is supposed to taste like. Quite a big drawback really for a coffee house

Hey there, nice site, as others have said, simple and to the point. I need some advice from yall. I filled out an application for s/b bout a week ago and the manager\'s gonna interview me pretty soon. Sometimes i go to s/b for a cup of coffee or mocha that\'s usually not bad. But after reading these comments here I kinda got second thought about working there. What do you suggest, go for it or it ain\'t worth it?

Altgrr, Filter coffee better than expresso? Lol you must be drinking shit American coffee. To everybody in general, I cant believe your wasting your time with Starbucks. There are hundreds more wothy causes to focus your energy on, like save the fraking Dolphins. Your worried about a coffee chain that has crap coffee, crap service and makes the piss-ant little coffee shops disappear? Wake Up!

I use to work at starbucks until I had a nervous breakdown and never went back. The customers all complain about long lines. Well maybe we would not have them if each customer didn\'t spend 20 minutes telling us about their life/ political standings/ and other mindless crap. Then there are the customers who epect you to know exactly what they want. Its not like we each wait on about 200 people a day. OH MY GOD I HATE STARBUCKS. The coffee sucks, they are over priced, and the employee\'s usually belong to the misfit crowd and are either oevr excited or deep and dark. WHy am I wasting my time with this.........

I\'m a little surprised to read all of the complaints here from Starbucks employees -- as a customer, I must say that the average Starbucks worker is barely competent to breath, let alone perform some useful service. And, for this, they have the temerity to bitch about the lack of tips. Maybe if they cut out some of their endless socializing and could arrange to serve up a cup of coffee in less than 20 minutes, an occasional customer might express some gratitude for their service.

I work at a resort here in Pa, I used to work in a Dunkin Donuts. It was a great job, easy as hell and it was fun I loved it. However the powers that be pulled Dunkin Donuts and signed on Starbucks insteed. Tonight was our first night with out new Starbucks set up and let me tell you it sucks all ass. I mean coffee is coffee but this just takes it to a whole new level. I had to read a damn book just to make a damn cup of coffee. Not to meantion they can\'t fucking call the cups small and large anymore, you have to convert over to starbucks talk. I just refuse to call a small cup of coffee a \"tall\" what the hell is that shit? Coffee is not to ment to be a science. It\'s a simple drink that needs a cup and thats about all not a damn menu! I don\'t think I\'ll be working there much longer. Damn Starfucks to hell.

Starbucks..what a fuckin waste. C\'mon..Im not going to waste close to $10 every morning to gain confidence and self satisfaction from a fucking cup of Joe. Fuck its all too damn commercial. I also see teenagers study and hang out there. Why? Hanging out at the local Starbucks won\'t impress me and it does not make any one look cultured. It seems like there\'s a fuckin Starbucks everywhere I go. I think people who hang out at Starbucks are snobby self indulgent weiners who have too much damn bloody money.
