There are many reasons why I'm against Starbucks, but this weekend just put me over the edge! Friday night I bought a tomato and mozzarella sandwich and at 3 AM Saturday morning woke up with horrible stomach pains. Ended up in the ER all day with food poisoning. I know this isn't Starbucks fault (Wholefoods prepared the sandwhich), but when I told them what had happened, not one person said they were sorry to hear what I went through, they rudely said, "Take it up with Wholefoods, we don't deal with the food". Guess they didn't have their 10th cup of crappy coffee yet, it was pretty early ..

Lol, I don't necessarily HATE Starbucks, but i think it's funny that all u people do. Not in a bad way! It's cool that you guys r all together on 1 thing. Starbucks is definately expensive and not worth all the money they make people pay, but n my opinion they have (some) OK coffee. But it's great u guys r letting them know they're worth crap! Lol! Go 2 Baskin Robbins! They sell a decent Cappuccino (I don't think i spelled that right!!) Blast!!! It's cheaper 2!!! ;) Lol but yeah I'll agree w/u guys anyway and say I dislike starbucks very much!!

In the US, Dunkin'Donuts is far better and far more reasonable, and in Canada, Tim Horton blows Starbucks out of the water.

On the cell phone question: A lot of times, if a customer is looking not ready to order, I ask if I may help the next guest who is *ready* to order. I haven't tried this on a cell-phone customer, but I wonder how it would turn out. I will try it....

Ok, Ok, this is my second post here. I too am a "partner", and > like quite a few people on this site I hate this Starbucks and > thier crappy coffee, the difference is I'm not afraid to tell the customers that. But don't think we are all a bunch of > brainwashed happy coffee people...well some of them are. I worked > for Disney, those people are brainwashed. You have to hand it > to Starbucks, they have successfully taken a large segment of the > population and told them that in order to be considerd sucessful they have to have thier 4.00 cup of > coffee(I get it for free so I don't care). My real purpose > in writing is to talk to those people who cry " oh no, Starbucks is > going in across the street from my favorite coffee house". My > answer, stop whining about it and do something. Like promoting > your favorite coffe house. Listen kids we live in a free market > economy, big business like Wal*Mart and Starbucks are successfull > because people shop/eat there. If you simply encourage people to > go to your Coffee Place of choice, then the system will work itself out. It's simple, if no one goes to Starbucks they close shop and go away.

Yes, it's true that Starbuck's owns other brands like Seattle's Best and Gloria Jean's. There are some others as well, they are a completely vertically integrated company having both production and distribution. Do your research.

I work at Starbucks. It is sucking the life out of me. They say that my polite service such as saying, hello or goodmorning and thankyou and stuff is not good enough. I have to get to know these people? The very people who are glaring at me evily as they drop their credit card just out of reach on the counter. The people who respond to my greeting with their order instead of returning it. they who demand where their drink is when there are 6 before theirs. I do not want to talk to these people. I do not want to know these people. People who think their time is more important than anyone elses and think theyre entitled to special consideration. I am not paid enough to get to know these people and I am not paid enough to compromise my principles. Pay me enough to live on my own and maybe I will give out "legendary service" Starbucks is Evil

I just finished reading about the "old Dunkin Donut" trying to stir up things in the coffee world. I say "Hurray"! It's about time somebody took the bull by the horns and gave Starbux a run for their money. I remember Dunkin Donuts in the Indianapolis area back in the early 70's, there was no better place for a good cup of "Joe" and a buttermilk cake stick. Here's to DD...Good Luck...I'll be looking for one of your franchises in my neighborhood real soon. Thanks.

I get coffee at Quick Trip (aka QT). They offer several types of regular coffee, along with flavored brews as well. They also have flavored creamers, flavor shots, add ins, several variations of hot chocolate, and even latte. You can mix it up and make whatever you want. Unlike Starbucks, the coffee TASTES GOOD! And even more unlike Starbucks, it costs 99c, no matter what you mix in. Think outside the 'bucks!!!

I have read all these websites about starbucks making you fat, and it made me very uneasy. Living in the seattle area starbucks is a very big thing so I look it up and it's not that big of a deal. A starbucks Mucha has 400 calories in it, everyone had a snickers bar right, there a snickers bar only 100 less calories

Let's be upfront here. Al can be much more than he currently is. No one knows Al's status in society, but my guess is that he is not of the highest of the elite. There are many well to do people that are both Jewish and Gentile. If that's the case, why is it only the Jewish people that get the riff? Is it because they tend to have the gift of doing well in business? Not all Jewish people are well to do, but it's true that many of them are. Many of you probably work for them, and if it wasn't for them, you may not have a job. It is necessary to point out that the Jewish business owners are not as savvy as they should be because if they hired any bigots and continue to employ them. They need to correct that problem immediately. Will Al be the first casualty of the necessary adjustments? Perhaps he should be. How come no one ever criticizes Christian based businesses? Should a Jewish person not even consider applying? What if they really need the job and have a family to feed? Here I am, a Jewish person, and I am criticizing a fellow Jewish person's company. Am I considered a blood sucker?

i couldnt beleive it when i found your site! it was like a sign from God. My building has a starbux downstairs and for the past few days ive been contemplating going down for a cheese criossant. Anyways, i havent had a starbux coffee or food item in over a month because my husband has decided to boycot them. Your site is extemely interesting and i think you a very intelligent person. I love your reponses to what they have accused you of and i stand by you. Anyways, i dont exactly know how you guys feel about politics and religion but ill give you a breif on why starbux is being boycotted in the arab nations, specifically. One of my former classmates at university was an Arab and she explained that Howard schults is a jew and has publicly announced that all money starbux makes from all its branches will be donated to the israeli army. We should stand against starbux not only coz its a big bad corporate co that brain washes its staff and customers but bcoz this corporation is fueling the world war instead of preacing peace and donating their money to first aid services for the injured. Anyways, the whole situation just pisses me off and i agree with one your fans who said that when we make a stand we need to be educated and intellectual and show the world that we are not a bunch of fools who have dropped out from uni and have nothing to do except sit infront of the computer all day. No, We are people with good jobs and we come from good families and we live in good neighbourhoods and we pay taxes and yes, we have made an educated decision to hate starbux.

Unfortunately, I'm one of the suckers who works for Starschmucks at the moment. If I could I'd work in a warehouse, but since I need to develop people skills I'm forcing myself to endure this junk on a daily basis. The thing is, we sale coffee, period. That's all the customer wants, that's all you need. You didn't come in for a good time, you're tired, grumpy, looking to kick the next person who smiles and says good morning's teeth in. You don't need "an uplifting and enriching experience for your daily life". You need a cup of swill without the suck ass aftertaste. It's like this place is slowly attempting to control the way everyone thinks, "Smile and you will make others smile", no, give them their damn coffee quickly before they pull out your spleen and they'll smile. So I apologize to anyone who's had to deal with my "budding" personality in this s***hole company. All you want is a cup of joe, all I want to give you is a CUP... OF... JOE... PERIOD.

Hey, just checked out Starbucks website, they give examples of the company treating the military well. What a joke, they give their employees free coffee (a benifit of the employees) and the some employees donated it to the troups. Then the company tries to take credit for it. Are you kidding me? That's like my company taking credit for money I donate out of my pocket because I work for them. What arrogant obnoxious clowns! How stupid do they think we are? p.s. They call their employees partners, more jokey starbucks lingo. What donkeys!

Thanks AL's Nightmare, you just proved my point. You may want to read and anlyize your thoughts again. I've two retail stores where I sell ten different assortment of Sturbucks cold coffee in bottels. Guess what, they are polled out of the shelves. No more. I'll also advocate to 300 stores in my association to do the same. God bless America, free speech, free enterprise...

Ever try to tell Starbuck employees that the company has bought poor quality burnt coffee beans? I wasn't born yesterdaY. I know coffee and I know what is good quality and what is poor quality. I have one suggestion for their company......change the name to Charbucks!!!!! They buy crummy beans and burn the heck out of them so we cannot tell they are poor quality beans. Yesterday I learned for the first time they were not going to have the Valencia syrup so there goes the only drink that is doctored enought that is drinkable....Mocha Valencia. Does anyone know why this drink was not promoted more??? Will be going to the competition from now on. Fortunately there is still competition in the neighborhood. Alot better coffee that is less in price and the supervisor is alot nicer to the workers. Really feel bad for those decent Baristas who have to put up with the Starbuck propaganda. Many of those I know at the Starbucks in my area have no choice since they are so desperate for work and are not trained for any other work that is available. So much for the soapbox lecture today. Thank you for letting me get my thoughts out. Mona

Hey Al! Your bigotry will get you nowhere. The Jewish people are the chosen people making you nobody and nothing. This is a forum about a company who walks a fine line in ethics and morality and crosses it time and time again. If you have a religious agenda, go complain to your religious leader whomever would be foolish enough to accept you in their faith.

I'm not really ashamed that I work at Starbucks because I need the money (shitty as the pay is), but I do hate my manager. Seriously, Starbucks will promote anyone. My manager is a complete moron, he's irrational and a hypocrit and thinks he can speak to anyone however he wishes. I'm just pissed off because my store has complained about him dozens of times and nothing has happened to him. Starbucks sucks when it comes down to business conduct.
